Ilan who?

My son
After a some deliberation, my Mom and I decided that it is best that for the sake of transparency, and seeing as how I manage all of her social media stuff, I will write as me.

You can still email Miriam directly using the address available on this page. However if you send a message via the facebook page, you’ll get me, and I am working on setting up a twitter account for the hash tag addicts.

P.S. I am only occasionally as cranky as I am portraid in the panel above.

LETTING IT GO book cover design

I am very proud that this time I made up the title and also designed
the cover.

I love the spine. That and the whole book was designed and edited by Tracy Hurren, Managing Editor at Drawn&Quarterly and a fine artist on her own right.

She created something wonderful out of the mess I handed to her.
I especially love her taking the red tail hawks and the pigeons for
the endpapers. Who would have thought about that. She did. And it works so well.

The release is next month and will be followed by several public signings. Stay tune for the exact dates times and locations as they will be announced here or on my facebook page.

We Are On Our Own, Korean Edition

Korean edition of We Are On Our Own
The Korean edition of We Are On Our Own is now available. The publisher is Esoop in Seoul. They expressed their hope that with this book they will introduce the subject of Holocaust to a younger generation in Korea and fight xenophobia. But the sincerity of the publishers goes beyond just words. The “Heliante Project” in charge of the translation is donating their royalties to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem.

I let it go…

'Letting It Go' arrives at D&Q
‘Letting It Go’ arrived at Drawn & Quarterly, and thus the process begins of preparing the pages for print. They received the original pages and were quite giddy with being able to see them as most of the material they receive these days is mostly in digital format. So much so that they blogged about it along with some sneak previews of the pages.

Berlin Counter Portraits

miriam of ilan
Visiting my son in Berlin. We bought him an iPad for his birthday. He downloaded a paint program for it and got me to make a portrait of him.

And then he did one of me. As you can see we both prefer not to flatter each other.

Letting it go… literally.

Saving on postage I took the art down to the D&Q table at MOCCA. In a few months it will become a book that will be in your hands.
